Evaluation of IFES Civic Education Programs in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic and Tajikistan

Purpose: 

This study is an evaluation of the civic education programs in three countries (Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan). It examined the degree to which students grasped democratic concepts, but also tried to identify how students were actually applying what they had learned. The program included innovative tools such a democracy summer camp, student action committees, and work with local governments which are examined in the evaluation.
