The project has been developed by a group of regional experts drawn from Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka convened by the Consortium of Humanitarian Agencies with a view to developing, organizing and conducting the activities over a period of 3 years, commencing April 2004.
The principal objective of the programme will be to enable actors, agents, participants and potential beneficiaries to centre stage the people for a life in dignity, now and in future and the foundation being the SAARC Social Charter.
The right to sustainable livelihood, which enables and broadens social and political participation and enlarges the political society/societies in South Asia is a key focus. The specific area of focus in the objective is linked to provision of sustainable livelihood and social and political participation.

Other sources include questionnaires for database gathering. Questionnaires are sent out locally to get local organizational profiles and subsequntly the questionnaires are gathered from all the countries in the region and a regional database is compiled. |
